Giving

"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7

The following values guide the financial practices at CCC:

Transparency

We want those who invest in the ministry of CCC to know how their investment is being used. Each January, the church budget with line items is published for anyone in the congregation to see. At our annual meeting, the Finance Deacon explains the budget and answers questions and the congregation votes to approve the budget for the coming year.

Stewardship

“Simplicity for the sake of generosity” is a phrase that we’ve used to guide our spending decisions over the years. Stewardship is not austerity (we still buy Sno-Cones for Vacation Bible School), but it does require an eternal perspective. We don’t always get it right, but we hope to manage costs so that resources can be spent for the mission of the church outside of our walls.

Mission

The call of the local church is not only to gather together for worship, growth, and fellowship, but also to participate in the task of making disciples of all nations. To that end, we aim to invest money in supporting missionaries (12% minimum of annual budget), church planting, and local outreach efforts.

Generosity

It’s our joy to invest money in the Kingdom of God outside the walls of C.C.C. In 2010, we began a plan to give away money that exceeds our needs in what has become known as the “Surplus Giving Plan.” In short, the Surplus Giving Plan is a plan to invest in global missions, orphan care/ministries of mercy, and church planting by giving away money that is in surplus of our expenses. Since the plan was enacted, the church has been able to celebrate the joy of giving each year as we’ve been able to invest in ministries like To Every Tribe, Lifesong for Orphans, The Seed Company, and many others.
